Principal Timothy S. Schmalenberger, FASLA, PLA, Honored with Engineering Excellence Award by The Ohio State University College of Engineering
Principal Tim Schmalenberger, FASLA, PLA, MKSK co-founder and Chief Operating Officer, has been recognized by The Ohio State University College of Engineering with the 2019 Excellence in Engineering & Architecture Distinguished Alumni Award for Career Achievement for his professional accomplishments and significant achievement in administrative leadership. The Alumni Awards program, now in its 35th year, was established to “recognize distinguished achievement on the part of alumni in the field of engineering or architecture."
Tim’s professional career spans 38 years in Landscape Architecture and Design serving his client’s needs with catalytic and practical design solutions. His detailed design approach combined with his diverse and extensive knowledge of the construction process, promotes quality implementation and innovative design in creating places that resonate with the community. Tim’s works have included a number of signature projects in Central Ohio including the Scioto Greenways, Scioto Mile & Bicentennial Park/Amphitheater Renovation, and North Bank Park along the Downtown Columbus Riverfront, the I-70/I-71 South Innerbelt Design Enhancement, Long Street Bridge and Cultural Wall, and the Arena District in Downtown Columbus, and a number of regional projects including the Ithaca College Athletics and Events Center in Ithaca, New York and the national award-winning Indian Springs Metropark Environmental Education Center in White Lake Township, Michigan. Tim has a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from The Ohio State University and serves on the State of Ohio Board of Landscape Architects, a position he has held since 2004.
